The US Market closed roughly flat after on Monday, after struggling for direction while investors awaited a raft of corporate earnings reports from major retailers for more signs about the state of the economy and the Federal Reserve's annual symposium in Jackson Hole.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.08%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.02% and up 0.03% respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.21%), the Dax 30 (-0.18%), CAC 40 (-0.50%) and the STOXX (-0.26%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.77%), HSI (-0.37%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.85%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.335%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.769%. Oil was up to $62.58 per barrel, up 0.97%. The gold price was at US$3378.05 per ounce, down 0.13%.
