AMP, the insurance and wealth management group, has hired Financial Market Authority head of compliance Elaine Campbell as its New Zealand legal counsel.
Campbell will replace Therese Singleton, who has been moved to the role of general manager, insurance and investments. Singleton joined AMP in 2003 and has been general counsel since 2008. She led the due diligence for the acquisition of the Axa in New Zealand and the first phase of the integration of the two businesses, according to AMP's website.
Campbell worked in senior roles at law firm Russell McVeagh, NZX and the New Zealand Markets Disciplinary Tribunal before joining the FMA at its inception and being promoted to head of compliance.
She takes up the AMP role in mid May.
