The US market closed higher on Wednesday to send the S&P 500 and Nasdaq to closing records, after US President Donald Trump extended the ceasefire with Iran, with a round of solid corporate earnings providing addtional support for optimism.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.59%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.63% and 0.59% respectively.

Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.21%), the Dax 30 (-0.31%), CAC 40 (-0.96%) and the STOXX (-0.41%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.40%), HSI (-1.22%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.52%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.307%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.804%. Oil was up to $92.88 per barrel, up 3.58%. The gold price was at US$4758.40 per ounce, up 0.82%.
