Air NZ signs contract with Virgin Blue

This agreement, which is effective immediately, provides the Australian-based airline with complete heavy maintenance support for its 48 strong fleet of new generation B737 NG aircraft.

ANZES General Manager Chris Nassenstein said that previously ANZES had supported Virgin Blue's maintenance needs on an annual basis.

"ANZES has worked very hard to customise its service to meet the specific requirements of Virgin Blue - and the result is a first class service that minimises operator costs and aircraft downtime," he said.

"Cementing a partnership with Virgin Blue is an endorsement of ANZES' focus on service excellence and a great outcome for an ongoing relationship".

ANZES will continue to provide this service from its narrow body aircraft maintenance facility in Christchurch where it also provides heavy maintenance for the A320 and B737 fleets of Air New Zealand, Freedom Air, Pacific Blue and Jetconnect.
