Sky New Zealand has today thanked Geraldine McBride for her service, as she steps down from the Board following the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on 2 November 2022.
Geraldine McBride has served as a Director of Sky for nine years, including as Chair of the People and Performance Committee.
Geraldine said: “Sky was a major innovation more than 30 years ago bringing satellite TV and channel choice to New Zealand. I joined Sky to assist in its transformation from a traditional broadcaster to a multi-platform, next generation media company focused on its customers. Much has been achieved in recent years and much is still to be done in the fast-paced media business bringing sports, entertainment and fan experience in all forms for Kiwis in Aotearoa New Zealand.”
Chairman Philip Bowman thanked Geraldine for her contribution to Sky. “With her expertise in digital transformation, customer engagement, people and culture, Geraldine has brought a valuable perspective to the Board. On behalf of the Board and Sky shareholders I thank Geraldine for her contribution, and her passion for Sky.”
Geraldine’s intention to retire from the Sky Board was signalled early in FY22, and the Board undertook an assessment process during the year, including with the appointment of Mark Buckman in March 2022.
