The US market closed higher on Wednesday on signs of progress for a peace deal with Iran, while the Nasdaq saw its first decline in five sessions as SpaceX and AMD stumbled following their quarterly earnings.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.49%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.17% and 0.83% respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.08%), the Dax 30 (-0.29%), CAC 40 (+0.03%) and the STOXX (-0.15%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+3.66%), HSI (+0.24%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.59%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.615%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.185%. Oil was down to $75.06 per barrel, down 0.94%. The gold price was at US$4308.05 per ounce, up 3.75%.
