A third explosion has reportedly rocked the Pike River coal mine, almost a week to the minute after the initial blast.
Chairman John Dow said the blast was smaller than the previous two explosions, which probably killed 29 miners, according to stuff.co.nz reports.
Pike River Coal's board met today to discuss the mine's future. Dow told reporters the company has up to $100 million of insurance coverage for business interruption.
