October 7th Morning Report

Us market closed higher on Thursday as concerns mounted ahead of closely watched monthly nonfarm payrolls numbers that the Federal Reserve's aggressive interest rates stance will lead to a recession. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.03%. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite was down 0.83% and 0.45% respectively.

In Europe key markets ended lower. The FTSE100 was down 0.78% , while the DAX30 was down 0.37% and the CAC40 was down 0.82%, the STOXX600 was down 0.41%. 

 Asian markets ended mixed. The Shanghai Composite (-0.55%) and the Hong Kong Hang Seng (-0.42%) were down, while the Nikkei 225 (+0.70%) and South Korea’s KOSPI (+1.02%) were up.
