Matt Crockett, CEO Telecom Wholesale and International, has today announced that he will leave Telecom at the end of June 2010.

Matt has been with Telecom for seven years, including four as the head of Telecom's Wholesale business.

"I've had seven great, rewarding, intense years with Telecom and after much soul searching I have decided the time has come for me to move on," said Matt. "I am very proud of what the Wholesale team has achieved over the last four years. We have not only substantially improved the performance, capability and reputation of Wholesale, we have worked with our industry colleagues to fundamentally change the way in which the industry operates to, I believe, the real benefit of New Zealand.

"Contributing to driving improved ICT outcomes in New Zealand, while playing a part in helping our great Telecom talent grow and develop, has been without a doubt the highlight of my career to date."

Paul Reynolds, CEO Telecom, thanked Matt for his contribution and support.

"Matt is an outstanding business leader whose intellect, drive and integrity have made him one of the most respected figures in New Zealand telecommunications," said Paul.

"His Wholesale team have helped re-shape the industry landscape to offer customers real choice. He has been unfailingly balanced and thoughtful as a Telecom executive team member. It is characteristic of Matt to make this clean break whilst on top and having delivered so much for Telecom. I am sure he will do equally well in whichever field he and his family choose next. I would like to thank him for his great support."

Matt's replacement will be announced in due course.
