The US Market closed mixed on Thursday with S&P 500 edging up to a closing high, while Dow Jones and Nasdaq were flat, after a hotter-than-expected producer prices report dampened expectations of potential interest-rate cuts.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.02%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.03% and down 0.01% respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.13%), the Dax 30 (+0.79%), CAC 40 (+0.84%) and the STOXX (+0.86%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-1.45%), HSI (-0.37%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.46%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.287%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.735%. Oil was up to $63.92 per barrel, up 2.03%. The gold price was at US$3382.10 per ounce, down 0.77%.
