21st February 2022 Morning Report

US market closed lower on Friday while treasury yield rose as tensions between Russia and Ukraine escalated. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.68%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.72% and 1.23%, respectively. 

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.32%), the Dax 30 (-1.47%), CAC 40 (-0.25%) and the STOXX (-0.95%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.41%), HSI (-1.88%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.66%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.97%, while the 2 - year note was at 1.47%. Oil was up to $93.54 per barrel, up 0.61%. The gold price was at US$1897.36 per ounce, down 0.10%.
