Provided you have done at least one online trade in the last 3 months you can 
get the depth.
At just over $30 brokerage per trade and cheaper than the next cheapest 
alternative it puzzles me
why anyone uses any other broker. 
The "full service and research" stuff from the other brokers is crap, quite 
often most of it is
wrong (keep a few brokers newsletters and have a look at them a year later for 
a good laugh).
Altho in a generally rising market any broker or investor is a genius ;-)

I do have to say tho that the depth data only gives you part of the picture and 
what shows on that
may be just the tip of the iceberg. As you trade you find there are much bigger 
sharks circling who
will dive in in a split second to sell or buy who didn't show up on the depth 
table. Depending on
the stock that is. Obviously there aren'y many big sharks circling around SPE 
for example....
