[sharechat] Goldbugs; What about investing in Macraes

It seems that GRD is to spin off its New Zealand gold mining interests. The
principal asset is the Macraes gold mine in Otago.

Sharechatters with a good medium term memory will recall the controversy when
GRD brought out the minority shareholders of the old Macraes Mining.

I can recall much tut tutting about the methods used by GRD to steamroll
minority shareholders into accepting a deal which was against their
interests.

In the fine tradition of securities regulation in Aoteroa, both the
sharemarket surveillance committee and the Securities Commision sat on their
hands.

I would advise prospective investors to poke the offer document with a sharp
stick when it appears in their mailbox. It may contain harmfull creepy
crawlies of Australian origin, who will attempt to take advantage of their
trans tasman cousins.

Boop-boop-de-do Marilyn

PS I wonder if the material contracts part of the offer document will contain
some interesting reading.
