[sharechat] Venal or Incompetent? Sharebrokers my 0.02c

Good point Hugh

A good example of this was the resolute optimism of CS First Boston regarding
their corporate client BIL.

Broker recommendations are to be taken with a pinch of salt particularly when
the broker has the listed company as a corporate client.

My advice when considering a broker recomendation is to establish if the
broker has a relationship with the company.

Brokers must live, and many have financial obligations such as school fees and
marina leases to support. It is as unrealistic to expect them to 'dis' the
product as it is to expect a car salesperson to do the same.

Boop-boop-de-do Marilyn
