Hi Crt,
welcome to NZ investing. The only thing I would like to know is why
NZ. Slovienia seems to me to have much better prospects? like you say the
market is very similar to NZ. The countries I can tell you are also very
similar. Lubijana and Bled are great places. We have our own caves at
Waitomo as well. But NZ now has a GDP per capitia about the same as
Slovenia's. Remember 10 years ago after your war of independance NZ's Gdp
per capita was about 3 times as high. So Slovenia is catching up fast and
has now overtaken us. Slovenia is looking to get to EU standards of living
and has already overtaken Greece and Portugal. NZ is struggling to maintain
our position and falling further behind the EU each year.
Personally I would to have some advice about investing in Slovenia, not to
mention Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. These countries all have
much better prospects for growth than NZ. Having said that its nice to see a
Slovenian with knowledge of NZ. Usually I got looks of incomprehension when
I said Nove Zealand. Still I think even fewer kiwi's have heard of Slovenia.
Good luck
Nevan
