New Zealand Oil & Gas announce that the 3000m exploration well Opito-1 was at

Opito-1 is located some 75km, northeast of New Plymouth, in PEP38729.  It is
the first exploration well in this licence area and will target the Kapuni C
Sands at approximately 2850 metres depth.  The estimated potential
recoverable oil within the mapped closure of over 44 km2, exceeds 200 million
barrels.  The target horizon is likely to be encountered by mid to late June.
