[sharechat] GPG / Tomorrow out of the tech investing game

Nick - the other day when you expressing your views on ITC you said you would have better off putting more into GPG (or something like this)

You'll be pleased by this announcement in Australia - GPG own a fair chunk of Tomorrow Ltd. Tomorrow were trying to buy the software company Mincom a while ago but i think it fell over.

Maybe Ron has counselled Wayne Bos out of trying to pick up pieces of the tech wreck. Maybe not much value left in many of these companies. A good point when you hear the Streamlink guy say that there is no future for Asutralian software houses while Australian corporations insist on using overseas consultants and expensive software packages (like Ariba SAP etc)

About Tomorrow -
Strategic investor Tomorrow Limited (TOM) today announced that after a major review of its business, the company will not be seeking to undertake further investments in the technology sector at this time.

Chief executive officer Mr Wayne Bos said that prudent business sense has led to this decision. "There are some good businesses out there that previously would have attracted significant investment support. But times have changed and it would not be prudent to spend Tomorrow's cash in the quest to match the right opportunities with the right deals," he said.

"With current market conditions having technology out of favour, it's time to pay specific attention to operating businesses rather than applying resources to an investment company," Mr Bos added.
