If we believe that " A fool and his money is soon parted"

where is the problem ?

I am perfectly content to take my gambling losses as they fall

However

I'm also well aware that my holding in SKC is producing much better retirement income

than almost any other investment that I could have stumbled over.

In a free market, the losers are entiltled to lose

and the winners ( and savers ) are entitled to prosper.

eventually, I guess, some of us may get the message ?
