Further to my last post the Vanguard Index 500 Portfolio Fund trades in the US under ticker VFINX. The fund has total assest of US$80 billion (yes billion) and the units are currenly priced at $US109. The minimum investment is US$3000. There is also a sister fund, VFIAX which has a mimimum of $US 250,000 but the fees are lower.

The fund has returned an average of 14.92% per annum over the last five years.
