Part one can be found as follows: Click < Other months >, click < December > and refer to Dec 31( entry at bottom).
Readers, please note: Names and places in this article are entirely fictitious. The names bear no resemblance to those of any living persons or to any mentioned professions.
H : This is my friend G.: dr Crash ( C ). His country: Wonder Land. It is close to my country: Cloud Cuckoo Land!
G: Please to meet you, I hear that your country cuts down " the tall poppies" and that many people consider mediocrity as normal?
C: Definitely! We have a large group of non-achievers: they don't want to have to raise the standard of their work!
Many people on the benefit tend to be jealous also and don't want anybody else to get ahead either !
H: Yes, we have poppies as well but some smoke the stuff; we also make hemp. Hemp curtains could be a big export earner!
Just now, we are giving it plenty of publicity by having people to try them out!!
G: I am concerned with the dumbing down effect: Students have been avoiding subjects which are vital to the country.
H: They then expect the Government to give them a job at high salaries! The law of diminishing returns to the nation does apply here!
C: Why do a job once if you can do it twice! That is another problem here, I hate to admit.
H: I want to refer to the education department and to that section who prepared and checked the schools' examination papers.
Will they give us the names of any people involved in the checking of papers which have caused problems?
G: I want to know the result of their investigation and what they have done about it.
C: Stay with SKC, at least it is a way of protecting oneself!
