Re: [sharechat] Addendum to Y2K Performance of NZSE companies

Ben,

Thanks for acting on my (and other peoples') suggestion of posting the 1999 list -- it is most interesting.

In fact you could just about say that the top few shares in the 1999 list are mirror imaged to nearly the bottom of the 2000 list.

On this basis, after weeding out shares that have ceased (or soon will cease) trading as well as warrants and options, one would expect the worst performing shares NEXT year to be:

RNS
GDC
MCH
WRI
WKL
VTL
BCH   etc, etc

Obviously the pattern won't be repeated exactly because there isn't another single sector that is so overvalued now, compared to what the Tech sector was at the end of 99.  However I wouldn't be surprised to see at least a few of the above shares at the bottom of the performance list for 2001.

Thanks again for all your efforts in running ShareChat, and Best Wishes for a Prosperous New Year.

Cheers

Grant Keymer
