It's unbelieveable isn't it. No doubt another illiterate MBA graduate.

As far as I know mezzanine funding is a mix of debt and equity capital.
Future sponsorship would relate to a future underwriter/promoter of a
capital issue.

Earning of equity is ambiguous and could mean either making profit or
acquiring equity; it is unclear.

So read as follows:

"In response to an ASX enquiry, PE said it is discussing non-resource
industry small investments. An ASX listing is possible."

That's my best guess. The function of jargon is to hide the writer's
true ignorance or confuse/overbear the reader.
