Commerce Commission clears BOC to buy Shell LPG business

The Commerce Commission has cleared BOC to buy Shell New Zealand's commercial LPG business.

Commission chairwoman Paula Rebstock said the commission was satisfied that the proposed acquisition would not, or not be likely to, substantially lessen competition.

The acquisition does not include Shell's LPG production and supply business or the service station arm of Shell's current LPG activities.

BOC's general manager in New Zealand Sue Dale said the company would be leveraging the capabilities and expertise within the BOC network to enhance the service and products it offered to New Zealand customers.
