U.S. stock markets recovered on Tuesday from previous days losses. The oil prices were also up as investors sought riskier assets regardless of increasing Omicron cases around the world. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher +1.44%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 1.57% and 2.15%, respectively. 

Other key markets ended higher. European stocks closed higher as follows: the FTSE100 (+1.38%), the Dax 30 (+1.36%), CAC 40 (+1.38%) and the STOXX (+1.65%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices were both up. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+2.08%), HSI (+1.00%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.88%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.49%, while the 2 - year note was at 0.673%. Oil was up to $74.06 per barrel, up 3.55%. The gold price was at US$1788.92 per ounce, down 0.16%.
