The US market closed higher on Friday, as a robust jobs report raised the probability that the US Federal Reserve will increase its key interest rate at this month's monetary policy meeting.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.51%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.38% and 0.29% respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.00%), the Dax 30 (+0.17%), CAC 40 (-0.09%) and the STOXX (+0.16%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+1.26%), HSI (+1.74%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.30%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.784%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.374%. Oil was up to $91.22 per barrel, down 0.09%. The gold price was at US$4477.20 per ounce, down 1.38%.
