Telecom general counsel appointment

Telecom has announced the appointment of Tristan Gilbertson to group general counsel, effective from next month.

Gilbertson is a highly experienced corporate lawyer who has held senior leadership roles in Australia, England and Japan.

"He brings deep insights into the telecommunications industry, with several years of experience as a senior legal adviser and in-house Counsel to companies such as Vodafone, Telstra Clear and Wireless," Telecom CEO Paul Reynolds said.

Gilbertson has also published a number of legal papers on telecommunications issues, including regulation and competition.

"Tristan's international experience and his commercial, strategic approach will be a valuable addition to Telecom's executive team at a time of profound change for our company and the industry in New Zealand," Reynolds said.
