US markets closed mixed on Friday in a subdued, holiday-shortened trading session for Wall Street, with investors eyeing Black Friday sales and news that iPhone shipments from China were lagging, causing Apple to weigh on the Nasdaq. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.45%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.52% and up 0.03% respectively.
Other key markets ended higher. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.27%), the Dax 30 (+0.01), CAC 40 (+0.08%) and the STOXX (+0.01%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.35%), HSI (-0.49%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.40%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 3.689%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.467%. Oil was up to $76.55 per barrel, down 1.78%. The gold price was at US$1755.00 per ounce, up 0.54%.
