F&P Healthcare names Tony Carter as chairman

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, which makes respirators and sleep apnea treatment products, has appointed Tony Carter as chairman, effective immediately.

Carter succeeds retiring chair Gary Paykel, who will continue to serve as a director, the company said in a statement. Paykel had been chairmen of the company for 10 years.

Carter joined the board in 2010 after retiring as managing director of Foodstuffs New Zealand. He is also a non-executive director of Vector, Fletcher Building and ANZ National Bank.

Shares in the healthcare company have shed 11 percent this year and are currently trading at $2.24.
