In order to better manage a rapid growth rate, Advantage Group has announced the appointment of Mike Stobbs to the newly created position of CEO Web Services.

Mr Stobbs will be responsible for Advantage's "eServices" division and its expansion into the Australasian and Asia Pacific markets.

Mr Stobbs will report directly to the CEO of Advantage Group, Greg Cross, who says "eServices is the fastest growing sector of the new economy. It's driving Advantage's growth and, as an organisation, we're committed to rapidly expanding our capabilities in this area".

Advantage has commenced a considerable recruiting drive this year, hiring 82 people with vacancies for another 95.

Advantage has grown from 60 employees in June 1999 to 524 today.

Mr Stobbs has previously worked for Oracle Corporation, ASB Bank and has run his own consultancy.

Mr Cross says that the appointment of Mr Stobbs will bring expert skills in helping regional businesses to leverage opportunities across the e-commerce sector.
