The US Market closed lower on Tuesday, lifted by Nvidia and Eli Lilly, while US President Donald Trump's decision to fire a central bank governor deepened concerns about the Federal Reserve's independence.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.30%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.41% and 0.44% respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.60%), the Dax 30 (-0.50%), CAC 40 (-1.70%) and the STOXX (-1.11%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.97%), HSI (-1.18%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.39%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.265%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.683%. Oil was up to $63.33 per barrel, down 2.27%. The gold price was at US$3440.75 per ounce, up 0.68%.
