Rural services company Williams & Kettle (NZSE: WKL) has disposed of a couple of liquor businesses.

The company says it has sold its W&K Liquor businesses in Gisborne and Wairoa to their respective owners for greater than current book values.

A remaining outlet, at Onekawa in Napier, has been retained.

In March WKL reported a much-improved interim profit, up 78% at $5 million, including a net gain of $363,000 on sale of properties.

The company's shares have risen from around $3.00 at the start of the year to Friday's close of $3.70.
