Pacific Brands Chairman James MacKenzie today announced the appointment of former ANZ Bank executive Arlene Tansey to the PBG board as a non-executive director.
Tansey has more than 25 years experience in the banking and financial services industry and more than 10 years experience as a company director.
Her previous directorships include the formerly ASX-listed Sydney Roads Group, Retirement Villages Group, Snowy Hydro Limited and Sydney Ports Corporation.
MacKenzie said Tansey would be a welcome addition to the board.
"Arlene's experience in the banking and finance industry will be an asset to the company as it continues the implementation of its Pacific Brands 2010 plan," he said.
"The board is extremely pleased that Arlene has accepted the role and look forward to her contribution."
Tansey was previously with the ANZ Bank where she held a number of senior roles, most recently as Managing Director, Balance Sheet Management for the Institutional Bank where she worked for ten years. Prior to this she spent four years in Project and Structured Finance at Macquarie Bank having come to Australia from the US with a background in investment banking and securities law.
She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds an MBA from New York University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Law Center. She was also nominated for the Telstra Businesswoman of the year Awards in 2009.
