Telco software company CommSoft chose its market listing debut to release details of a distribution agreement with the world's largest tech distributor, Ingram Micro.

The agreement will allow Ingram Micro, which has a worldwide turnover of US$24 billion, to distribute CommSoft's NetMaster software in Australia.

The software tracks all internet access in the workplace and reports usage by employees, costs and time, data downloaded and most visited sites.

CommSoft chairman, Greg Gardiner, says the software can help small and medium enterprises more productive, more efficient and more effective.

"Telecommunications charges can take a big bite out of company profits and CommSoft's products will put those dollars back onto the bottom line."

CommSoft listed on the ASX on Tuesday with 15.4 million shares allocated at A$1.10.

The company began in New Zealand in 1997 and has operations in Australia, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Singapore and New Zealand. It is forecasting operating revenue for the year to the end of June 2001 will be A$20.9 million.
