Fletcher Building has sold some of its aluminium assets to Ullrich Aluminium for $5 million.

CEO, Ralph Waters, says the assets comprise the business of Fletcher Aluminium's Solutions Centres, which is a distributor of rolled and other aluminium products to the engineering and boat building industries in New Zealand.

He says the sale of the non-core assets will have no impact on Fletcher Aluminium's major window and door business, which will be retained.

The sale takes effect immediately.
