The New Zealand Refining Company (NZRC) has announced the appointment of Denise Jensen as company secretary following the resignation of Dennis Martin.

Jensen had been fulfilling the role of chief financial officer and was appointed to the role while Martin focused on Strategy and Planning.

She joined NZRC in February 2005 and has held the positions of internal auditor and finance manager.

Martin will leave the company in March to take up a new role as chief financial officer at Powerco in New Plymouth.

He has held the NZRC positions of chief financial officer, company secretary and strategy and planning manager.

NZRC says Martin has brought a lot of financial experience from outside the oil industry to the Marsden Point refinery.

"During his time with NZRC the company has achieved solid financial results and his contribution to our ongoing success has proved invaluable."
