US markets closed higher on Monday after the United States confirmed it will ban Russian oil and other energy imports.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.55%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.49% and 0.97%, respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.07%), the Dax 30 (-0.02%), CAC 40 (-0.32%) and the STOXX (-0.20%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended lower. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-1.71%), HSI (-1.39%) and the Shanghai Composite (-2.35%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.868%, while the 2 - year note was at 1.625%. Oil was up to $128.7 per barrel, up 4.47%. The gold price was at US$2041.09 per ounce, up 2.14%.
