US markets reversed earlier losses on Wednesday's choppy session after the release of minutes from the US Federal Reserve's last meeting showed a cautious stance among policy makers due to uncertainty. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.20%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.42% and 0.67% respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.11%), the Dax 30 (+0.24%), CAC 40 (-0.44%) and the STOXX (-0.11%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed lower. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225 (+0.60%), HSI (+1.29%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.12%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.564%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.984%. Oil was down to $83.97 per barrel, down 2.33%. The gold price was at US$1887.60 per ounce, up 0.66%.
