The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 rose to record closing highs on Friday following upbeat forecast from Lululemon Athletica and other companies and as US jobs data fueled expectations the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates this month.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.28%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.25% and 0.81%.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.49%), the Dax 30 (+0.13%), CAC 40 (+1.31%) and the STOXX (+0.53%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.77%), HSI (+1.56%) and the Shanghai Composite (+1.05%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.149%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.098%. Oil was up to $66.04 per barrel, down 1.65%. The gold price was at US$2640.20 per ounce, up 0.26%.
