The US market closed higher on Monday, after President Donald Trump said he had ordered the military to postpone strikes against Iranian power plants following "productive conversations" with Tehran.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.38%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 1.23% and 1.38% respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.24%), the Dax 30 (+1.22%), CAC 40 (+1.22%) and the STOXX (+1.33%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-3.54%), HSI (-3.54%) and the Shanghai Composite (-3.63%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.352%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.843%. Oil was down to $88.95 per barrel, down 9.45%. The gold price was at US$4419.24 per ounce, down 4.13%.
