The Board of NZ Windfarms Limited (NZX Code: NWF) is delighted to announce the appointment of David Prentice to the role of CEO effective immediately.
Most recently, David was the inaugural Chief Executive of Manawa Energy and prior to that was Chief Executive and Director of Trustpower and Opus International Consultants. David was also the Chair of the Interim Committee for Climate Change and is currently on the Board of Northpower and Martin Jenkins.
He graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree and a PhD in Engineering. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand.
NZ Windfarms Board Chair Mr Craig Stobo welcomed Mr Prentice’s broad energy sector expertise and engineering project development background to NZ Windfarms. Mr Stobo said “The Board is very pleased to have David join us and help lead the next phase and build on what has been achieved so far in the reconsenting of the world class Te Rere Hau site, and partnering with Meridian Energy to redevelop and repower the site”
Mr Prentice said he was excited to be joining NZ Windfarms and working with a company that was committed to playing its part in the ongoing decarbonisation of New Zealand’s economy. Mr Prentice said” I’m particularly looking forward to working with the Board and executive to focus on additional growth and development opportunities with the support of investors and clients.”
