Nathanael Starrenburg, a lawyer with a 25 percent interest in corporate law firm Harmos Horton Lusk, has been named to the Takeovers Panel, which is farewelling outgoing panel member David Flacks.
Starrenburg's five-year term started on Oct. 25, said Commerce Minister Paul Goldsmith. Starrenburg "has a strong background in corporate and transactional law. His practical experience in securities law compliance and equity capital markets transactions will add considerable value to the Takeovers Panel,” the minister said.
Starrenburg is one of five directors featured on the law firm's website along with Andrew Harmos, a former NZX chairman who counts a number of listed companies among his clients, and advised Silver Fern Farms on the Shanghai Maling investment. Of the rest, Greg Horton is an M&A adviser with clients including Maui Capital and Goldman Sachs; Paul Oldfield advised Fonterra Cooperative Group, Meridian Energy and Mighty River Power (now Mercury).
Starrenburg is one of two younger gents who complete the board, along with Tim Mitchelson, and they each hold 25 percent of Harmos Horton Lusk Ltd, along with Harmos and Horton.
The panel will remain at 11 members including chair Andy Coupe and deputy Carl Blanchard.
