 Normally, you have to fill in a W8-BEN form when you open the account. Etrade 
sound particularly unhelpful. I would advise you to transfer your account to 
Datek anyway. I have been trading with them for a long time, and have nothing 
but praise for them. In spite of having the best site that I have found on the 
net, they continue to add extra functionality to it. Free dynamic charts, free 
research, free stock screener, free Level 2 quotes for larger accounts, all for 
a flat rate of $9.99 a trade, long or short, market or limit.
 
 I wouldn't post anything on ShareChat if I was unhappy about it being 
disseminated by anyone. Disseminate away!
