Re: [sharechat] Market depth - an explanation?

market depth shows at what price, and volume of shares the market would
work,(deals done) say a share price is $10 there may be some buyers(no. of
shares, not no. of buyers) at 9.90 some more at 9.80 and heaps at 9.70
therefore you know that to buy at 9.80 you have the reassurance that people
are prepared to spend megabucks at a slightly lower price.the same with
selling some at 10.10 some at 10.20 and heaps at 10.30,once 10.30 orders
have been filled will there be any buyers?maybe better to take the 10.25

i have only experienced etrade australia and they have a spreadsheetlike
chart with the next 10 prices up + down + volumes (+no. of buyers making up
that volume)

p.s. i'm self taught and hope i have the story right, better ,perhaps to see
if dr. w will clarify
