Fletcher Building said today it has completed the purchase of Australian commercial metal flashing business, Eziform Sheet Metal.

Brisbane-based Eziform has annual revenue of $10 million, and would extend Fletcher Building's range of services in Queensland, the company said.

The existing senior management will remain.

Chief executive Jonathan Ling said this year he was looking for a business around the size of its $750 million purchase of Laminex in Australia five years ago.

Glass, bricks, fibre cement, paint and plastic pipes are areas believed to be of interest to Fletcher.

Shares in the company fell 20c, or 1.8%, to $11.20.
