Rural servicing company Wrightson Ltd has advised that it is merging Agriculture New Zealand's on-farm consultancy business under its own brand.

Wrightson, which is Agriculture NZ's parent company, says the change supports Wrightson's strategy of aligning its business units more closely.

Wrightson's general manager Michael Ahie said that the change would not affect the other three businesses making up Agriculture NZ.

"The training, agri-business and horticulture groups are not affected by this change, and will continue to operate under the Agriculture NZ brand."

The on-farm consultancy group employs 38 staff and a review of the department should be completed by the end of next month.
