Walker, who has an extensive background in banking law, particularly in commercial, investment and merchant banking, is a senior partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.
He has been recognized in numerous publications as one of the world's leading banking lawyers, Richina says in a statement.
Early in his career he was a lawyer in the US Federal Reserve System. He is a director and president of the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, a not-for-profit organisation that channels expertise of financial sector professionals to strengthen the financial infrastructure in transition and developing countries.
Walker is a member of the "Council on Foreign Relations", a USA based independent non-partisan organization dedicated to understanding and development of USA foreign policies and choices.
