UCLA picks SOE system

Software of Excellence (NZSE: SOE)is continuing its push into the US market, signing up the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to provide software and services to its dental school.

CEO Paul Weatherly says the UCLA School of Dentistry intends to install a comprehensive electronic patient record system using the company's software.

"UCLA undertook a comprehensive review of all available systems, over an extended period of time.

"Although a substantial amount of development effort is required to fully meet the needs and expectations of the Enterprise market in the United States, selection by UCLA is clearly a significant step in the development of the market in the United States."

The Auckland-based dental software company has two main divisions - its Enterprise division sells dental solutions to dental schools and public health providers while its Professional division sells systems to dental practices.

SOE's main market is in the UK where it is the largest supplier of clinical software to dental practices. It is also the market leader in New Zealand and is making inroads into the Australian and Asian mar
