Retailer Postie Plus Group lifted third quarter sales 4.75 percent from a year earlier to $29.6 million, and the company says it is looking forward to a strong finish for the financial year.

While the market continued to be tough, the company said it was continuing to have healthy growth in market share with its Postie same store sales rising 3.35 percent in the three months ending in April.

A refresh of the Postie stores and new look marketing featuring Jayne Kiely and Ruby Higgins had made an impact across New Zealand, while the Babycity chain was also showing growth in its new segments, the company said today.

Year to date sales were 4.6 percent up on last year to $86.2m, with same store sales up 3.6 percent.

"The remaining three months of the financial year are a major profit contributor for the group and we are looking forward to a strong finish," Postie Plus said.

"We cannot predict the end of year result, as the market remains volatile, however, with stock levels under control and within the budgeted plan, we remain confident that we will see an improvement on last year's result."
