Smart Pay, the EFTPOS company that acquired assets when ProvencoCadmus failed in 2009, has confirmed a seven-figure contract to provide an in-store marketing and point of sale EFTPOS system for the New Zealand hardware chain, Mitre 10.

The contract, for which no precise value was given, was said to be one of its largest to date, and follows a similar deal with clothing chain Postie Plus.

The systems and services that will be provided to Mitre 10 include retail radio and in-store advertising.

Shares in SPY last traded at 4.1 cents on the NZX today, having recovered from less than 1 cents after SmartPay bought the payments division of ProvencoCadmus in August last year.

In a March forecast, SPY expected to post earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation of between $1.5 million and $2 million in the 12 months through March.
