Early on in his business career, Creech was a farmer and practiced as an accountant and he was a founder and developer of Palliser Estate Vineyard Limited.

In addition to his business interests, Creech has served five terms as a Member of Parliament. His portfolios during that time included Health, Education, State Owned Enterprises, Employment, Revenue, Leader of the House, Government Super Fund, Customs, Ministerial Services, Public Trust Office and Deputy Finance.

During his Parliamentary career, Creech was the National party member responsible for negotiating the Superannuation Accord and the Memorandum of Understanding on Employment with the other parliamentary political parties. Following his service across these portfolios, Creech was appointed deputy Prime Minister.

Creech takes up the position effective immediately.
